Demodectic Mange Treatment

If you don’t take care of your dog properly and provide a good and clean living environment, he might be affected by mange. Always be prepared to encounter the mange problem. The dog mange is a dermic illness induced by parasites that dwell on your dog’s skin. Dog mange in the demodectic form is contagious for humans and other pets. Not to mention the fact that without any mange cure, this skin problem will make your dog repugnant and less attractive, because his body will be covered by wounds, scabs, blisters, and he will suffer hair loss in those damaged portions.

Don’t cure the mange by yourself. Immediately after spotting the first symptoms of mange, take your dog to a vet and hear what he says. Discovering the right symptoms shows you the right type of mange and ways to treat it accordingly. There are 3 types of mange, each one featuring diverse symptoms and effects.

The first type of mange, called chyletiella mange, after the mite that causes it, isn’t a major skin problem. Its ymptoms are easily observed on the skin, since many skin regions will be covered in light dandruff. The damaged areas will cause your dog to lick and scratch in those parts.

The sarcoptic mange is more noticeable on the dog’s skin. Scratching incontrollably leads to hair loss issues on the dog’s body. Be careful when caring for your dog in this disease situation, because this type of mange has infectious to people. Pay extra attention to the vet’s advice on how to deal with this type of mange.

The third one, named demodex mange, can be observed especially in young dogs and puppies. The demodectic mite is the villain behind this mange type. This type of mange can also be a result of a hereditary system immunity deficiency in some dog breeds. This mange type can affect some breeds in a larger procentage than other breeds. The affected lesion regions are on the face, the muzzle, the periorbital eye mask. Skin thickening and dry secretions will appear in the damaged areas. Antibiotics should be used to cure the mange in the early stage.

Again, I must emphasize the fact that you need to to get advice from a specialized veterinarian. Your local vet will give you a prescription of antibiotics and unguents, to cure the mange. Ask your local vet for advice on how not to be infected by mange.

Don’t ignore your dog, just because he has mange. Don’t cease expressing your care and love towards him and try your best to cure him of mange.
